Zubair Ahmer Junejo

Q: Tell us something about yourself

Ans: My name is Zubair Junejo s/o Shaeer Ahmed Junejo, i belong to Distt. Dadu. I started my schooling from Army public school Hyderabad, followed by matric and intermediate from Public school Hyderabad and model school  S.U old campus Hyderabad. I did my bachelors and masters from s.u Jamshoro. We are 3 brothers, i am the youngest, both my brothers are govt. Officers. My late father was also a public servant.

Q: How you started up your career?

Ans:I started my career right after completing my intermediate in the year 2002, as i was selected through sindh public service commission as A.S.I in Sindh police department, but in the meanwhile i continued my education besides my job. After completing my M.B.A in HRM from IBA, S.U jamshoro. Later on, i got appointed as Assistant Registrar Estt. Section at Muet jamshoro. Since i had ample experience of working in police deptt. I was assigned an additional charge of security officer at muet Jamshoro from Aug, 2015. Currently i am holding both positions at once.

Q:3= What difficulties, Do you face in your daily life regarding security?

Ans: We usually face different sorts of issues in the security like.. complaints regarding negligence of duty by security guards, complaints regarding missing laptops from hostels, missing bikes from parking areas. Interference by staff in the routine affairs of security section, shortage of guards etc.

Q:4= What is eminent threatyou have regarding security and how you tackle them, specially keeping in new recent wave of terrorism ?

Ans:We face a number of threats in view of the prevailing wave of terrorism like, unchecked student points of private transport plying inside the university premises. Lack of trained security personnel, poor condition of weapons and ammunition for responding with a matched response to the potential miscreants.

Q:5= What basic step you take upon receiving terrorist attack?

Ans: Timely information sharing is the most basic step in case of a terrorist attack, such that all concerned law enforcement agencies and paramilitary forces be informed at once. However, the private security  guards must try their best to confine, restrict terrorists to a small area and engage the enemy until support is received from concerned law enforcement agencies. Casualties / injured people be shifted to hospital asap.

Q:6= Any recent event regarding security you want to share with us? And how you dealt with it?

Ans: Recently, during the MUET gala held at MUET Jamshoro, On the first day, Traffic mismanagement was reported near the stage area, which created a security hazard. On the second day, I increased the strength of security staff deployed right behind the stage and the issue was resolved thus eradicating the security hazard

Q:7= How students can co-operate you ?

Ans: Students can greatly contribute to the security on campus by keeping a vigilant eye on their surroundings and reporting any hostile activity to the security staff at once.

Q:8= Why public transports such as rickshaws, Are not allowed in the University?

Ans: Rickshaws have often been used for bomb explosions and there is no system for identification of rickshaw drivers. It is practically not possible to check each and every rickshaw thoroughly while entering the campus.

Q:9=How do you control your temper in situations, When you know the person standing in front of you is at fault ?

Ans: I must admit that it was hard to control my temper at times especially when I know that someone has been wronged. Fortunately, I have been trained to deal with hectic situations rationally rather than emotionally

Q:10= In what ways, Can you improve security in University?

Ans: Unlike other educational institutions, the security of the university is very much difficult, challenging, exigent and probing, because in other educational institutions either there are day scholars or hostelers but in university you have residents there families, friends and guests so you need to be extra vigilant, observant and more importantly watchful.

So in order to improve the security we need to carefully observe the activities of all the ppl entering the premises.

In order to secure the colonies we have made sure that no unauthorized person in residing in university residential accommodation be it houses, bungalows, guest rooms or hostels.

We have also strengthened the watch and ward by providing a mobile unit to periodically check the premises.

Security is also beefed-up with the help of cameras and physical monitoring.

Construction of boundary wall is also another step to check the entry and exit.

Displaying identity cards and illumination of dark patches also contributes a lot to improving the security.

Constant touch with LEA is another means of intelligence sharing to coup up with any untoward incident.

Q:11= what surveillance is installed in your University?

Ans:We have got CCTV cameras for surveillance in our university.

Q:12= Any instructions you want to pass to students of the University?

Ans: I want to stress all the students to keep their studies a top most priority .

Check their surroundings if anything they think is a potential threat they should immediately tell the security staff.

Cooperate with security staff and not fuss with them.

Follow the rules and instructions and Respect the teachers.
